Individual Therapy

The past two years have tested many... if not most... if not all of us in some way, shape or form. Periods of isolation that challenge our human desire be connected to others, grind and hustle culture dramatically shifting work/life balance, impacted relationships with friends, loved ones or other supports, etc. There is and has been a lot going on. Individual therapy is a great resource to pause and provide yourself with an hour a week to reflect and examine how you're showing up to the world as well as create more adaptive and sustainable ways to cope with stressors. Whether you're new to therapy, seeking a new provider, or coming back to address general mental health or a specific concern, I would be happy to hear about what's bringing you in and how I can help.

Eating Disorder Therapy

Eating disorder treatment is still individual therapy, just specialized and tailored to address a specific concern. It's my goal to help you understand and develop insight into your relationship with food and your body, beginning with untangling the different messages we all receive about these things from societal norms, family cultures, etc. Some common areas that come up in this work are identifying where and how the ED has impacted your quality of life, caused distress around eating and potentially led to an avoidance of foods or situations to not feel that distress. Together, we can work to increase your ability to tolerate things that were avoided, learn more about food and nutrition, and feel more empowered.

I also highly encourage a "team approach" for ED work, and am happy to recommend amazing dietitians that I collaborate with frequently to supplement nutrition education and information!

About Me

I graduated with my Master's in Community and Trauma Counseling from Thomas Jefferson University in 2016 and am currently a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Pennsylvania (PC011081), as well as a National Certified Counselor. These titles simply mean that I've met the educational requirements and completed enough supervised training post-graduation to practice independently in Pennsylvania. Since then, I have worked with individuals, families and groups in the community, outpatient, intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization settings.

My approach is straightforward and direct while also deeply empathetic, lighthearted and incorporating bits of humor.  I am dedicated to fostering an authentic and supportive relationship with clients to promote awareness, empowerment and growth. I believe that doing this work is a privilege, and aim to give my clients a different experience in therapy that is much more than the old tried-and-true stereotype of "and how does that make you feel?" By taking a collaborative approach, my goal is to work with you to uncover the insights and solutions we all have within ourselves. Sometimes we just need a little bit of help getting there.

As for who I am outside of work, I can usually be found trying out new recipes I probably found on TikTok, scouring the internet for a good deal on a flight to somewhere new or planning my next trip to a National Park (10 down, only 53 to go). I'm always happy to swap recommendations for restaurants and cool things to do in and around the city!
